How do I choose an elder care provider?
First, learn what questions to consider when choosing an elder care provider by learning the types of providers in Florida. When it comes to home care for a loved one, you must understand what level of care is needed. Do you or your loved one need personal care or homemaker/companion assistance? Is assistance need such as our A.M. P.M. twice a day or all day or all night? Do you need help when your spouse or family are not with you? Assistance may also be planned for occasional respite care, around holidays, or vacations.
What is home care and how is it different from home healthcare?
Home care refers to any type of care (medical or non-medical) that is provided for the client in their home. In recent years, however, there has been a shift in terminology. While home care can be used to describe both medical and non-medical care, typically “home care” refers to non-medical care such as personal care services and companionship/homemaking services. Most chronic health care conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s and other long-term diseases are considered non-medical.
“Home healthcare” or acute medical care follows a specific plan of care often post-hospitalization or rehab. These services are delivered under the supervision of a Physician, by a Nurse (RN/LPN), or Therapist, and involves home healthcare services such as skilled nursing care; physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies; as well as social services and hospice care.
Why should I hire Partners In Healthcare to care for my loved one rather than finding a caregiver on my own?

Will I have the same caregiver all the time?
During the in home assessment, the RN will document the services required and the client’s preferences and will consider caregivers that match the client’s needs and personality. Then, the RN selects the best caregivers fit for the client and will introduce each team member to the client. During the in-home meeting RN will ensure that caregiver understands your care plan. Changes can always be made to ensure optimal client centered services are delivered to you. All Efforts are made to keep the same caregivers with the same client in order to minimize disruptions.
What if my Caregiver is sick or on vacation?
Partners In Healthcare uses a client centered team of caregivers so that your care service will not be interrupted if someone gets sick or goes on vacation. If your caregiver is unavailable, the service coordinator will arrange another caregiver from your team if available and will contact you in advance of the change. Your RN and your care team will also personally introduce the interim caregiver to you and review your Plan of Care with the interim caregiver. Our goal is to ensure that you receive consistent services as expected.

This is just a note to say thank-you to the staff at Partners in Healthcare for helping me care for my disabled son these past few months. He is in his early teens and suffers from cerebral palsy. Normally I handle all the care for him but unfortunately i had to have knee surgery so I was unable to do most of the heavier chores. I hired a caregiver from Partners in Healthcare to give me a hand for a couple of months and let me tell you she was a Godsend. She was well trained and very compassionate, and my son accepted her immediately. The only sad part was having to say goodbye to her after my recovery. I would definitely use their service in the future and I recommend them to anyone in need of a caregiver.
I have a very special daughter who turned 3 in February. I say special because she is living with Down Syndrome. I have always made sure that she is treated in a positive way, and that she learns skills that will help her become independent. I work from home so I get to be with her throughout the day, but I often have to play catch-up at night to be able to meet my work deadlines. I decided it was time to bring in some outside help. My sister recommended that I give Partners in Healthcare a call because her husband's family had used them in the past with great results. I met with an RN named Bonnie who told me about their Tender Touch Care Plan, and how it is designed with children in mind. I interviewed the caregiver that would be assigned to my daughter and discovered that she was well trained and that her character was well suited for this type of work. We set up a visit for 3 times a week and I'm happy to say that my daughter is loving the attention, and is progressing nicely. I am happy to recommend their services.
they are genuinely the most kindest and caring agency i worked for. the owners provide holistic care to all their clients. caring to the workers as well.
Our caregivers are angels so kind, patient, loving and compassionate and they give exceptional care. I never need to worry that my parents are not being cared for properly
My mother felt that both her and my father's health were deteriorating and because their desire was to live in their home, she anticipated that one day they might need more help than I could give them. At the time, my parents and I felt like I could help them with all their needs but after a friend's recommendation to call Partners in Healthcare to set up an appointment to meet Bonnie in the event that we might one day need help, I made the call. Bonnie came to my parent's home to meet us. She never pressured us in anyway but simply took down my parent's information just in case we were to ever need help in the future. Just knowing that we were in the Partners in Healthcare system gave my mother and me so much peace but little did we know just how thankful we would be that we took this first step because 4 months later, my mother suffered a head injury after a fall. After a week in the hospital the doctor made his Sunday rounds and told me that he would be discharging my mother to a nursing home Monday morning. I immediately called Partners in Healthcare and spoke to Bonnie directly on that Sunday morning. She told me not to worry because she would arrange everything! On Monday morning, the doctor discharged my mother to her home and Bonnie and a caregiver were there to meet us! With 24-hour care provided by Partners in Healthcare my parents have been able to stay in their own home which I firmly believe has given them such a happy and great quality of life. Fast-forward to today, we still have our wonderful and loving caregivers provided by Partners in Healthcare. My mother has fully recovered from her head injury but needs minor assistance walking, showering, etc. and since January, my father is now requiring care due to Alzheimer's disease. My parents now receive Couples Care from Partners in Healthcare. I would highly recommend Partners in Healthcare. Bonnie and Hank are wonderful and are available any time I want or need to talk to them!
